  • Live content accounts for almost a quarter of global viewing time (Conviva 2021).
  • According to a report by Forrester (2017), live videos hold users’ attention 10-20x longer than pre-recorded, on-demand content. That’s a massive opportunity!
  • Poor quality streams can ruin the live streaming experience. In fact, a study by Livestream (2017) revealed that 67% of viewers say that quality is the #1 most important factor in a live stream.
  • The online live streaming industry has grown by 99% between April 2019 and April 2020 (Tech Jury 2020).
  • In 2020, 232 million people watched streaming or downloaded video across all devices in the U.S. (Statista 2019).
  • This year, online videos are predicted to make up more than 82 per cent of all consumer internet traffic (Cisco 2021).
  • Access to exclusive coverage is the reason why 26% of viewers tune into live streams. (GWI Consumer Trends Report 2019).
  • On mobile devices, people watch videos for an average of 16 minutes a day (Statista 2019).
  • On a desktop, people only watch videos for an average of 7 minutes a day (Statista 2019).
  • Two-thirds of marketers that target consumers use live streaming for marketing (Content Marketing Institute 2020).
  • Nearly 75% of Millennials say that videos are helpful when they’re comparing products while online shopping (Tech Jury 2020).
  • 80% of people would rather watch a live video from a brand than read their blog or social posts (Tech Jury, 2020).
  • After watching a live video of an event, 67% of viewers are more likely to buy a ticket to a similar concert or event (Livestream 2018).
