Conference Videography

Video Production Services

There are plenty of options when it comes to filming conferences and seminars.
We've put together an overview to give you an idea of the possibilites that video provides.

Filming a conference is essential for preserving key insights and extending the reach of an event. Recorded sessions provide an opportunity for attendees to revisit important topics and for non-attendees to access the material afterwards. Event highlight videos are great to recap and event; they can also be used to promote future events.

Key Considerations

As with every video production, the first question to ask is:
What is the purpose of your video?

Do require full coverage or highlights only?

When filming conferences, we typically provide full-lengths video presentations and/or a highlights video of the event.
Sometimes, we also conduct in-depth interviews with delegates.

Overview of the Different Options Available:

All our packages are bespoke solutions, tailored to your specific needs.
We call them "packages" because they include everything from planning over filming to editing and final delivery.

Highlight Videos

Short promotional videos serve as a powerful tool to capture the essence of an event, showcasing the best moments, key takeaways, and overall energy. These videos provide a quick yet impactful summary that can engage both attendees and those who are considering attending the next event.

A well-produced highlights video can introduce the event's speakers, showcase networking opportunities, and capture the buzz of the day. Highlight videos offer an engaging, shareable way to celebrate an event's success, providing a lasting resource that both informs and keeps the event alive long after it concludes. They are usually up to 3 minutes in length, and include vox pops as well as b-roll shots. B-roll is the extra footage captured to enrich the story; it allows for greater flexibility when editing. Interviews and vox pops for highlight videos tend to be relatively short. The time required for filming them, however, can take up to 5 minutes.

People who are not familiar with being interviewed and filmed, might feel uncomfortable at first. We do our best to put them at ease but it's important to allocate enough time for each person, so that they don't feel pressured in case we need to redo a question. Reasons for repeating a question can range from sound issues to people glancing at the camera. A little bit of time to warm up can also greatly enhance the quality of interviews.

In addition, highlight videos are typically overlaid with music. Choosing the right music is critial because music is an important component to any highlight video. It can drive the viewer's emotions in a way that the visuals alone just cannot do.

At Event Video Pro, we pride ourselves in providing unobstrusive filming services.

In-depth Interviews

Interviews bring a story to life. They are authentic, add personality and provide an inside look.

A typical setup for interviews consists of 1 or 2 cameras. We use a 3-point lighting setup and radio microphones. Sometimes, a boom mic is used.

Vox pops instead are filmed on-the-go, sometimes in very noisy environments. If that's the case, we sometimes use a handheld mic instead of a lav mic.

Considerations to keep in mind when filming interviews: What background will look nice on camera? Do you need a backdrop?
Also make sure to choose a quiet environment as this will result in better audio quality.

For longer interviews, please see our section on in-depth and standalone interviews.
